Another bearer of the family name ZWIRTZ is also documented before 1800 in today‘s Belgium. A memorial in the church of Habay-La-Neuve proclaims the marriage in the 17th Century of a Jean ZWIRTZ, owner of the furnaces in Luxeroth in the Province of Luxembourg, with a Marye d´EVERLANGE. In Luxembourg, various certificates of landownership in the dominion of Sassenheim document the existence of a Johannes ZWIRTZ , living in Sassenheim in 1766 and holding multiple buildings, including a barn and stables, as well as a garden and farmland in fief. Another source mentions most likely the very same Joannes ZWIRTZ, who, on 2 September 1770 in the former town of Sanem (Luxem- bourgish: Suessem , today: Sassenheim ) becomes the godfather of a Jean KREMER . If those individuals refered to above are related to the ZWIR T Z families in focus and if they had decendants, could not yet been proven.
